Who we are

Information you give us

When you submit a form on this site, we collect what you type into it: your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, what you are looking to do, and your message. That submission is emailed to us so we can reply. We do not sell it.

Form submissions are delivered through Resend, an email service provider, and are stored in our email accounts for as long as we may need them to serve you. If you would like yours deleted, ask and we will delete it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you spend on them, and the site or search that referred you.

We use the following third-party services, each of which receives some of that information directly from your browser and applies its own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics 4 — Page views, traffic sources, and aggregate behaviour.
• Google Tag Manager — Loads the tags below and others managed outside this website’s code.
• Microsoft Clarity — Records session replays — mouse movement, clicks, and scrolling — plus heatmaps.
• Freshpaint — Event tracking, used to route analytics data to other tools.
• Ylopo — Powers the property search widgets and tracks how visitors interact with listings.
• Mapbox — Renders the interactive maps. Loads only on pages that show one.

Please note the session recording. Microsoft Clarity captures a replay of how you move through pages. It is a common analytics tool, but it is more than page counting, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it. Clarity masks form input fields by default, so what you type into a form is not part of the recording.

Our tag manager container may load additional advertising and measurement tags, including ones from TikTok, Microsoft Advertising, and Google’s advertising network. These are used to measure advertising and may be used to show you ads elsewhere.

Cookies

The services above set cookies and use similar technologies such as local storage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. Blocking cookies may stop parts of the property search from working.

Property searches

The home search on this site is provided by Ylopo and served from a separate domain. If you create an account or save searches there, that information is handled under Ylopo’s privacy policy in addition to this one, and it is shared with us so we can follow up on your search.

Your choices

Virginia residents have rights under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, including the right to know what personal data we hold, to correct it, to request its deletion, and to opt out of targeted advertising. Residents of other states may have similar rights. To exercise any of them, email us at barry@yourfriendlyagent.net and tell us what you would like us to do. We will not treat you differently for asking.

You can also tell us to stop contacting you at any time, and we will.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
